Omega Turns the Olympic Countdown into an Urban Experience

For the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, we transform the countdown to the opening ceremony into a striking public installation in the heart of Milan. In Piazza del Duomo, a monumental sculpture reinterprets the Games logo as an immersive expression of time, movement and anticipation.

Time Becomes Monumental.
As Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, Omega has long been associated with precision, performance and the measurement of defining moments.

For Milano Cortina 2026, the ambition was to give the countdown itself a physical presence. The Games logo became the starting point for a large scale semantic sculpture, conceived as both landmark and timepiece.

A Landmark in the Heart of Milan.
Installed inside a large glass display case in Piazza del Duomo, the sculpture creates a strong visual presence within one of Milan’s most recognisable urban spaces.

The transparent structure acts as a technological frame around the installation, while continuous snowfall transforms the interior into an unexpected winter landscape. At its centre, the countdown marks the time remaining until the opening of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The result is an installation that combines visual impact with precise functionality, turning the passing of time into a public experience.

Where Art, Architecture and Time Meet.
The project goes beyond traditional display design. Art, architecture and technology come together to create an immersive experience in the heart of the city.

Rather than simply communicating the countdown, the installation gives it scale, atmosphere and emotion. Time becomes something to encounter, not only something to measure.

In Milan, Omega turns anticipation into a physical brand experience and creates a landmark that connects the city, the Games and the moment still to come.
